lovely, i trained with them!
it is very intensive, and there is work before and after. but you will find it really very good. practical and emotional work too.
the real learning i think comes with the doulaing itself, it is a learning curve constantly... amazing !

Do you think it matters that I haven't given birth?

Everytime I skip down active convos I keep reading this as "trailing entrails".

Sorry, just thought I'd share that with you all!

VictorianSqualor · 06/05/2008 18:50

Ewwww, imagine what trailing would entail if i needed to ask a doula about it!

you have given birth ! 3 times, just by a different exit

just a different mindset

you have passion, commitment, breastfeeding skills, knowledge and empathy

think you would be great!

You know what I meant! I've never actually 'done it' but then nor have many midwives or doctors.

Where is your course going to be VS? I've been doulaing in my own way for a while but I had always planned at some point to do a course (I had it in my head that once my youngest was 2 I'd look into it - she was 2 a couple of weeks ago so it looks like the time is now!)
I sopke to Valerie just before I got pregnant the last time to see about hosting a course at home (Staffordshire) as there never seem to be any near me.
