Does this look like tongue tie?

Does this look like tongue tie to anyone? I am contacting gp in the morning. My little girl is 7 weeks. It’s taking her around an hour and half to take a 5oz bottle as she’s falling asleep during it aswell. When she’s taking a bottle I can hear a clicking like nose when she’s sucking, milk is spilling out her mouth (having to use smallest flow teet). She seems to get unsettled during feeding aswell. Also when sleeping very noisy and snoring like sounds. When she’s also going to take bottle she makes like a chewing motion or would gag on it aswell as a dummy.

All those symptoms you describe sound exactly like my DD2, who had a 90% tongue tie. GPs in my area wouldn't assess tongue tie - the HV could refer you to the infant feeding team, but in our area, the infant feeding team would only take on bottle fed babies if there was a weight gain issue and then there was a 4 week NHS wait to have it divided.

Can you afford to get someone to assess privately? https://www.tongue-tie.org.uk/find-a-practitioner I think our initial assessment was around £40 and then more to have a private division, but I was able to get it divided 3 days after it was diagnosed.

Some of the symptoms could indicate a tie. It doesn't really matter what it looks like, if it impacts function then in impacts it.

The only person qualified to assess if a problematic tie is present is the person who is qualified to cut it (so your gp/midwife/hv can only give their opinion)

You could contact your local infant feeding team but with a bottle fed baby many won't refer unless weight gain is an issue.

If you can go private the association of tounge tie practitioners have a list on their website

Thanks everyone 😊 I will maybe contact my HV first this morning. Tried looking on tongue tie practitioners website there but nothing coming up as I’m Northern Ireland.
Would be more than happy to go private, will look up places that are in my country 😊
