C-Section 7 months on

I had an elected C-section 7 months ago and I've just stepped out the shower and thought that my scar was really stinging. I've looked at the whole thing and surrounding skin is bright red and I'm sure with a smell.

I had problems with infections at the start because there was a small hole, where I had antibiotics and creams but that was all sorted.

I'm super suprised to see a problem with it 7 months later. Has anybody else has this?

I'm nearly 3 years on from mine and where there's an overhang I'm really prone to getting fungal infections in the area. A round of clotrimazole cream usually sets it right.

This has been happening me almost 6 months on. From time to time I feel the sting and within a couple of days it's roaring red, sore and smelly. Seems to be bacteria gathering in the overhang that I now have. I shower every day and sometimes twice a day but it wasn't preventing it. I discovered it happened more often if I wore normal knickers that could rub and irritate the area. Now I've gone back to my postpartum high waist ones (glamorous, I know). I ordered a bottle of chlorhexidine wash and spent about a week washing the area with that and it hasn't happened since (last happened about a month ago). Cant say for certain if that helped but after being on multiple courses of antibiotics/antifungals it just kept coming back but not since starting the chlorhexidine. I'm going to keep using it about once a week I think and see how it goes. Worth looking into.

25 years on since last C-section and yes gets smelly, red under the overhang.

Have to wear high knickers to tuck it all in,they're cotton but the area gets wet and sweaty several times a day.

I also get sweaty red area under breasts.
I was told athletes foot powder is best as apparently it's the same fungus that causes the smell and soreness.
So I use that under boobs and in the overhang belly and it really helps.
