C Section Tomorrow!! Nerves Kicking In BIG TIME!!

Exactly that ....

Going in tomorrow at 7.30am to have a csection, baby is breech. And the nerves are kicking in big time... I've felt really relaxed and calm all day, had a relaxing bath, pamper session, takeaway for dinner and chilled... now nighttime is here, it's all dawning on me. Any words of encouragement? Any tips to keep calm??

No personal experience but good luck and how exciting ♡

It’s such a strange feeling the day before a section isn’t it? Is this your first baby? I would have a calming drink before bed and try to get some sleep.
Br prepared you might hang around tomorrow waiting for the section so have some things you can do to pass time x

How exciting.absolutely try and get as much sleep as you can a sit might be the last time in a long time. I had a week in hospital prior to an emergency c section and going into it exhausted was the worst thing!
I’d also make sure your room and house are nice and clean and tidy, nothing worse than coming home to a mess.good luck! Keep up with the painkillers even if the pain doesn’t seem bad, and drink peppermint tea for for the trapped wind x

Honestly it's not that bad. I didn't like how quiet the theatre was so asked them to play some music. So maybe get your partner to make a playlist.

It might be strange words of encouragement but I was just like this - breach and born by c section, in December. So I say hi, fellow upside down December baby! And send you all the very best Mama, this time tomorrow you'll hold your DC! Let us know how it goes and what the name is xx

I had an elective section in June. It was a lovely experience, but I still blubbered before I went in, lol. I'd never had any surgery, and it's a big operation, so it's totally normal to feel nervous.

Baby is out in about 10 minutes, and you're so busy staring at them, that the rest of the time flies by. There are lots of people there and the anaesthetist keeps a very close eye on you.

Do what you need to do to keep calm. I held a teddy until I went into theatre, lol. And have a nice playlist ready.

Prime your partner on how to distract you if needed. I honestly didn't even know they'd started, lol.

Good luck! And try and get some rest!

What the hell?

Feeling exactly the same about mine on Monday! My son was an emergency c-section 7 years ago and I don't really remember huge amounts as I was tired and on all the drugs. Good luck and please let us know how you are x

I was so nervous I was sick the night before and morning of it. Amazing experience though.

PlaidMaid · 11/12/2024 21:18

This was me exactly 6 years ago…how the time flies. Good luck OP x

Enjoy every moment-I absolutely loved both of mine! The most wonderful experiences of my life. I was lucky to go in first though so wasn't too hungry/thirsty!!!!!! I was so so anxious but still managed to enjoy using lots of deep slow breaths and chatting to the medical team and my partner! It's just very surreal as baby goes from being in your belly to suddenly being in the room in your arms in about 15 minutes!!!!! Enjoy the toast afterwards and all the newborn snuggles Xx
