Hi everyone-

I had an EMCS with my first baby 3 years ago, and really struggled with the recovery.
I’m currently 32 weeks and have just been told we have to have an ELCS this time and not a Vbac.

I’ve been looking at the BabyGo postpartum recovery belt, and wondered if anyone’s tried this, or another c section recovery belt and has any advice on them?

I want this recovery to be a lot smoother than my last so up for all the tips please!

Thank you

I would say that speaking as someone who has only ever had a planned c section, you will recover much better with a planned one than an emergency one as they aren’t rushing and baby isn’t already coming out.

I didn’t use a support band, just had big knickers and loose trousers and took it very easy for the first 5 days. I even sat down slightly leaning back to make sure my scar wasn’t covered up with skin.

in my experience the best thing is to rest, keep on top of painkillers and keep your scar clean and dry, and let the air get to it whenever you can. I didn’t have any infections and recovered quickly.

within a week I was pretty much back to normal, I have photos of myself on pram walks.

good luck!
