Anyone had more than one planned c section?

I had an elective/planned c section 3 years ago, not medically indicated, just maternal request as after multiple miscarriages we wanted the baby to get here as safely and drama free as possible (and I wasn’t keen on all the uncertainty and possible tearing, forceps etc of a vaginal).

I had a really positive experience, lovely staff, like a well oiled machine. Recovery was straightforward and I went home the next day (wish I’d gone home earlier but had issues with feeding, wish I’d advocated for myself more which I definitely will this time) I’ll also be allowed my husband with me the whole time which is great as he was only allowed to be with me during very short visiting hours last time.

Im doing the same again at end of December, this time with a 3 year old at home!

wondered those of you who have had more than one elective CS, how did you find it? How was your recovery? Is there anything you changed from the first time?

I'm in the same position OP. I'll be having my second ELCS in March with a 4 year old at home so interested to hear any responses

@sel2223 good luck! How many weeks will you be when you have yours? Is it maternal request?

also bumping!

I have had 4. All positive although I opted for a general anaesthetic for two of them. Recovery was fine.

@Scutterbug thank you what made you go for a general if you don’t mind me asking? Did you find it less nerve wracking each time or were they all quite different? Did you stay in hospital for very long?

I hated the feeling of the spinal block, it made me really panicky so I preferred GA. I stayed in about 24-48 hours. My last three 24 hrs, 48 for my first but she had jaundice and was small.
