I went out to get a few bits today and have come home, thrown it all in the bag as safe keeping and I'm now having a panic that there just isn't much there. Feel like I'm forgetting things.

I have :
Nightie
Button down PJ set
Lounge set for going home
Slippers
Flip flops
2 packets of large knickers
Socks
Wash bag - shower gel, body wipes, face wipes, toothpaste, tooth brush, nipple cream, breast pads

To be added is : dressing gown, face cloths, hairbrush, maternity pads, towel, snacks, battery pack, charger, lotion

Baby has :
3 x newborn vests
3 x newborn sleepsuits
3 x 0-3 vests
3 x 0-3 sleepsuits
Nappies
Snow suit (need to walk to car then remove as carseat is fitted)
Carseat blanket suit
Blanket
Wipes

To be added : premade formula bottles, going home outfit, hat, muslin squares.

DH has :
2 x Lounge set
2 x boxers
Socks
2 x t-shirt
Deodorant
Toothpaste
Tooth brush

To be added : charger, medications, glasses, change (car parks)

As for the at home essentials, I thought I was organised but now I'm panicking as I don't seem to have as much as I thought.
I have
the crib, swing, car seat etc.
Bottle maker,
steriliser.
12 bottles.
A drawer full of newborn clothing and a drawer full of 0-3 months.
Nappies.
Wipes.
Blankets.

Will be ordering muslins, a baby monitor ASAP..

I have been thinking "ah they dont need much to start with" but I've gone 360 on myself and need it all sorted now. Total freak out tonight

This all sounds good to me!
Don't worry about your DH - they usually pop in and out.
You've not missed anything and I remember not even using half of what I packed (I have however had uncomplicated deliveries so only stayed one night and discharged following day)

Thanks.

You wouldn't think I've done this three times already. I just feel so unprepared this time round. Probably because I'm so busy with children already.

Then you definitely got this!!
It's so hectic isn't it. I must admit I enjoyed my little hospital trip second time round. Gave me a break from the toddler haha

I wish I had that, after my first I've been home the same day with my others. I might request a over night just for a break!

Oh no! Pray for a busy night at the delivery suite so you have to wait ages for the doctor to discharge you!

Pros and cons to that now I think on, I'm due Christmas week so I might need to get home 😂🤣

Also, what snacks? I took a whole bag with my first but then lived out the hospital cafe, and didn't take anything with my second which wasn't ideal as they arrived early morning when the shop and cafe wasn't open for extra juice etc.

I think you’ve probably got this, being baby number 3!
But before I read that, I was going to suggest swapping the 0-3 month baby clothes for 0-1 month potentially?
Also to pack a small fan as even in December, the wards will be boiling. And a water bottle with a straw! I’m not sure what a car seat blanket suit is, but alternatively a cellular blanket is perfect for covering baby in the car and preventing overheating.
Snack-wise, I would take something like breakfast biscuits/cereal bars, some plain-ish crisps (I took ready salted hula hoops), and maybe some sweets - I always see jelly babies recommended as they’re quick to chew between contractions but I’ve had quick labours and never been in a position to eat during!

Thanks!

I don't have 0-1 month clothes - just newborn which I find to be pretty much the same size wise there or there about. But good idea.

A car blanket is one that fits round baby and straps but is approved for carseats (ie doesn't add bulk and straps have access to go under it if that makes sense)

Oh I must also add my sling to the list for carrying baby out to the car!

agree with PP it’s not likely your baby will need 0-3 months. You tend to go through sizes like this…..newborn > 1 month > 0-3 month.

also I would take a towel with you for you and a blanket with you for husband to sleep on the hard blue chair
