Technical question: How can I be 1cm dilated and not have had a show?

Because the consultant says I'm dilated enough to break my waters tomorrow (more to do with previously having given birth than actual dilation this pregnancy) but have definitely had no show.

Perhaps you lost it when you had a wee?

I have had two babies and ne'er a show for either.

Maybe I s'pose. Would have thought I'd have noticed. Ahh well. More interested than worried really.

No show for me either time until I'd got to a few cm!

I don't think I ever had a show
not one that I noticed, anyway

good luck!

Hi, I have been told that you are always 1cm dilated with subsequent births. Not sure how true that is though! Good luck! How exciting, I remember it well (DD2 7 months).

After having a baby, the cervix remains about 1cm 'open', termed a 'Multips Os'. Lots of women never notice a show because its not always pik, or blood streaked. Most shows are just clear jelly.
