C section under general anaesthetic

Hi,
Just wondering if there’s any mummas out there that had a c section under general anaesthetic instead of a spinal for medical reasons?
I’m unable to have a spinal but I’m so stressed and sad I won’t be awake to see baby girl born/have that first skin to skin etc.
Has anyone had the same and if so was it all okay? When do you get to hold baby? Does it affect bonding?

Like *Applebumblebee I bled so much I was in HDU for 5 days and didn't see my daughter for 3 days as I was unconscious. My now exH let his friends and family visit my baby in SCBU before I'd even met her and 24 years later it still hurts.

I can understand your pain, that would really hurt me too

I wish you had been my aneasthetist when I had my two emergency c sections 55 and 52 years ago!
Not saying anymore on this board as it was a long time ago and things have seemed to have changed for the better.
I still remember every minute of the time I was awake though.I am now a grandmother and great grandmother courtesy of DS2.If he had not been delivered the way he was then none of my descendants would have existed.
All the best to everyone on this board, I have been one of you all.
