Discomfort after 3rd/4th degree tear

Hi, it's been 5 months since I've delivered my stillborn baby. I had a 4th degree tear. I am still in daily discomfort from this. My bumhole twitches in random moments and my scar itches with movement.

Is this normal?
It's dreadful and making me forego my plans of ever having (living) children.

I'm sorry to hear what a traumatic time you've had, for the loss of your baby and the tear.

I had a 3rd degree tear in 2022. I honestly can't remember a lot now, it was very traumatic and I think I've blanked a lot of it out, so I don't remember specific twitching or itching, sorry, but I do know it took a long time to heal, definitely longer than 5 months. It is a big injury and a lot to recover from. Have you seen a pelvic physiotherapist? They're very helpful, so I would definitely recommend getting a referral for that. They can help with exercises to strengthen your muscles and advise about massaging your scar tissue to reduce the sensitivity.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.i hope you are doing as well as you can in this situation.

I had 4th degree tear and epitosmy forecep delivery. I don't have any pain now at all and only 11 weeks pp. I do have terrible incontinence though so maybe it just affects differant people differently depending on what took the brute force at birth.

Again I am so sorry for what you have been through I cannot even imagine and sending you hugs. Take good care of yourself xxx
