Playlist!?

Did anyone create a playlist for your planned c-section?

My midwife said we can create our own playlist, or the hosp will just put the radio on.

It prob doesn't sound like a huge deal but I like the idea of a playlist... I don't want my baby's first song ever heard to be cardi B singing about her 🐈 if we just have the radio on🤣

What songs did you pick for your playlist!? I just need some inspo please🥰

Surely what you put on your playlist depends entirely on the sort of music you like?

I’m making a playlist to have on in the background when I give birth, but my choices might be very different to yours as we probably don’t enjoy the same music. Just pick songs you like Smile when choosing the songs, imagine seeing your baby’s face for the first time as you hear it, and decide if you want it on there as that’ll be a forever memory!

I had no idea this was a thing until the op was underway and they popped the radio on 😂 DS was born to 'we built this city on rock and roll' (in 2019).

If I had a playlist, I think it would've been Disney Hits to begin the brainwashing early 😂 Or just my hype list (lots of Macklemore and Jason Derulo!)

Unfortunately I ended up having an emergency C section and didn't get to enjoy my playlist which contained Push it by Salt & Pepa followed by I want to break free by Queen.

I asked for radio 2 so no chance of Cardi B! A risk of Jeremy Vine though 😂 It was nice to not over-engineer it in some ways and not say DS must be born to a particular song. Made it a nice surprise to see what it would end up being. Actually, I couldn’t even hear the radio (or at least I didn’t register it being on amongst everything else going on) and had to ask DH what the song he was born to was afterwards. Turned out it was ‘Love is all Around’ by Wet, Wet, Wet which is really lovely and I now think of the song very fondly.

Mine will be born to Chris Stapleton - the joy of my life I also have on there Ellie Goulding how long will. I love you, James Arthur - heartbeat , Sheryl crow / sweet child of mine

Amazing!!!! Some of these are fab hahah.
I don't have a specific genre of music that I like, that's the problem really! Some days I'm a country girl and other days I'm a Motown mama... other days I'm an arctic monkeys rocker😂😂
Ahhh I think we might just use the radio then and see what song it ends up on and hope for the best (radio 2 sounds safer!😂)
Thanks guys!!

The radio can be great, but there was a radio on in the background when my Dad was in his last moments (he loved music) and I hadn’t registered anything they had been playing until my Dad was taking his final breaths. The song they were playing was Gay Bar. I saw it as my Dad’s last little joke as he would always sing along in a silly voice, making an even sillier face and playing air guitar whenever he heard it Smile it made us chuckle at the worst time of our lives!

However, I hope your sweet baby does not enter the world to Electric Six!

I gave birth to Kate Bush, Wuthering Heights, I think in my head I thought it would be a beautiful moment, really peaceful, having my brow gently dabbed as I breathed my baby out to serenading me, in reality I was a sweaty, screaming mess, who didn't want my husband touching me and my baby came out all tangled in his cord 🙈

I had Heart Radio on and Jamie and Harriet were discussing cars - specifically Allegros - as I was pushing. At that moment in time I decided that the baby should be called 'Allegro'... whilst he is in fact named after a car - luckily DH vetoed Allegro!
