I'm 39+4 and from about 35/36 weeks I've had cramps, shooting pains in back/pelvis, the runs etc. All of these symptoms put me on 'high alert' that labour was imminent. However, over the last week it's all gone strangely quiet. I feel fine and (apart from looking enormous and still getting a regular kicking from the baby) I could almost forget I'm pregnant.

Does this mean it may take another couple of weeks (I'm dreading an induction at 42 weeks). Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't worry, I had this happen with two pregnancies. It is very frustrating!! But the good news is, it can help speed up labour when it gets properly started. So put your feet up and relax.

Cheers, I'm hoping that it's the lull before the storm. I'm trying to just chill out and enjoy the last few days/weeks of peace but am starting to get a bit bored now.

Probaby need to be reminded of that when I haven't slept properly for weeks and I would do anything for several hours of sitting on the sofa with a good book
