Worried about my 9 month old

My nearly 9 month old is still unable to sit without support.. She can pull herself up to a sitting position when we hold her. She rolls back to front, smiles, babbles and is eating well.. But just seems a little weaker than other babies, she can push of her legs but doesn’t do this very often or for very long. When we put her in a sitting position she will either chuck herself backwards or push off her legs and slide down onto her back. Any advice much appreciated?? Haven’t had the best experience of health visitors so don’t really want to contact them if it’s just a case of her doing things in her own time. She was born at 37 weeks and has ears measured on the small side. Thanks in advance for any help ❤️

I would say it is wise to contact your GP if you haven't had a good experience with your HV... It is absolutely possible that she may just be doing things in her own time but it is worth them just checking her over and possibly referring her to a paediatrician and/or a paediatric physio. Not to say anything is wrong but it is always better to be cautious and early intervention is best if there is anything hindering her development.

I'd take her to the doctors to get her checked and see what they say. It may not be a concern but by 9 months babies are usually sitting. Does she crawl?

Thank you both. She doesn't crawl at the moment and hates being on her tummy. I've made a GP appointment but it's not until 10th October so may have to contact the health visitor aswell. Anyone else had similar problems? She's definitely getting stronger when sitting with support, last week she managed to hold herself well in the trolley all around our food shop, whereas a few weeks back she would last minutes before she looked really uncomfortable and we just decided to carry her.
