I had a membrane sweep this morning and the midwife couldn't even feel the cervix. I am 3 days overdue. Has anybody else had similar experience only to go into labour?
I am hoping for a vbac and I'm now worried that I will go the full 12 days before they induce me. I will only be offered the gel to induce and then if that doesn't work I will be offered a section.
I'm also worried as according to my dates I am not due until 21st April. Due for another sweep a week today if I don't go into labour before.

I had sweep on the Tuesday and my first show on the Friday. I was already booked in to be induced on the Saturday morning cos of HBP.
Gel inserted at gone midnight on the Saturday due to a shortage of delivery suites and had DS and 1:04pm on the Sunday

I had a sweep on my due date for VBAC and cervix was still far back and hard to reach. Went into labour about 5 hours later.

40 + 3 is still quite early for a sweep, usually better around 41 weeks.

don;t panic !!
