What happens if waters break before my planned section?

I will ask my midwife about this the next time I see her but I have been wondering.

I am scheduled for a CS, I would have wanted one anyway but I have been told by my consultant that it is ‘safer’ for me given previous gynae issues.

But what happens if I go into labour beforehand? Will they still give me a CS?

i had a planned cs for breech and was advised to go straight in

They will put you on the list for the procedure within 24 hours of your waters breaking. This happened to me, waters broken Saturday evening I had the section Sunday evening. Had to be monitored in case I picked up an infection so I was admitted Saturday night.

It will go on the ‘emergency’ list but as a low category emergency.

Yes they will just do it that day for you. It isn't an uncommon occurrence so please don't worry about it, if you have been advised to have a C-section they will give you one.

Exactly this. It will be a category 3 C-section. We do them all the time day and night.

Happened to me but we became a category 1 emergency c-section due to being fully dilated by the time we reached the hospital, which meant the baby needed to be out within 5 minutes. They did ask for my consent to do whatever they felt was the safest option which I agreed to but they went ahead with the section due to baby being footling breech.
