Well, this is it!

My waters broke at about 6am, and I've been having short sharp contractions every now and then since. Cramps all night too, so I have absolutely no doubt at all that I'm going to be meeting my beautiful baby very soon.

Wish me luck with my home birth. I'm going to need it!

Any pain reiief tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to go wallow in the bath now.

Here we go!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! How exciting! I'm no help on the pain tips (apart from having a bath which you are doing!) but good Luck

DivaSkyChick · 13/04/2008 07:36

Stay in the bath as long as you can. When you are out, keep moving. Stay off your butt, on your feet, lean forward on your partner with your arms around his neck. Breathe, count your breaths. Remember that this is the most incredible moment of your life and you are giving birth to a little human! Keep positive.

Anyway, that's what I did and I had a great home birth, Good luck and very best wishes to you!

FTMum · 13/04/2008 07:36

sending lots and lots best wishes and positive vibes!

goodluck!

chocolatespiders · 13/04/2008 08:16

wow... how exciting-

i would walk to manage the pain....

best wishes

glaskham · 13/04/2008 08:20

I rested myselfover the back of a chair(my PC chair of all things) and wiggled my hips from side to side with each contraction....or when it got really bad, i lifted one leg up and down to my hips and that did help me....was never told about them, just tried it and it helped me!!

Good Luck!! My home birth was the most amazing experience ever...hope yours is the same. xxx

Eddas · 13/04/2008 08:24

oh good luck, this was me a year ago

DKMA · 13/04/2008 08:28

Oh yey! How great!!!
Hope your feeling okay so far - and the bath is helping!

LemonTart · 13/04/2008 08:38

Wow - very excited for you! I remember living in the bath with my 2nd labour. Helped a lot. Just remember to get out now and again and walk about/eat/drink etc. Can be so easy to relax tot he point of slowing everything down in there! But I am sure you know all that anyway. Will be thinking of you all day. Home birth can be very empowering and special and I am sure you day is going to be one of the most incredible days of your life tc x

sophiewd · 13/04/2008 08:39

Good Luck!
Enjoy it, remember every pain is Good Pain, it's bringing your baby closer to you and into the world, yes, it will fucking hurt, but only for so long and it is doing a Good Job.
Your body knows what it has to do and you and it are more than capable.

Spidermama · 13/04/2008 11:47

Good luck chaoskay. Don't forget the food fuel for all the hard work.

fairylights · 13/04/2008 11:54

chaoskay · 13/04/2008 14:34

I had a beautiful baby boy 8lb 3oz at 11.19pm at home today after a very very VERY painful birth. Gas and air, a tens machine and a bath! I rock! 5 hours of what felt like constant contractions. Won't be doing that again in a hurry!

Still very elated and completely knackered. Can't believe I finally have my baby in my arms. Not sure of a name, possibly Logan.

So happy!

Thanks for your messages of support, not read them as yet. Kind of posted it was starting and then it all went a bit mad, so not had time.

Couldn't wait to get back on here and tell you all!
