On the advise of a friend who had a very positive birth experience, I have just read M.Monghams hypnobirthing book. I found it very interesting and seemed to make a lot of sense. Completely different to all the other birth books I have read. I'd like to hear any relevant views or can anyone point me in the direction of relevant posts. Thanks

I've just had dd (3 days ago!) and used the monahan book and cd, it worked for me! I was a little sceptical as I tried it with ds2 but he had a very quick labour and I was completely thrown! With ds2 I found everything was manageable up to transition! However I did manage without drugs (although I was just asking for pethidine, didn't get time to take it!). With dd I felt calm and aware of what was going on, and I definitely found the pain manageable! Oh and I didn't swear once!! Managed the whole thing from start to finish without feeling like I was losing control and had no pain relief again (despite being offered!).
Also I only actually picked up the book 3 weeks before my due date!

Hi. I posted asking a similar question a couple of weeks ago. It is in the childbirth section. Not sure how to link to it!
