ds got shampooed by the nurse at hospital
started using shampoo after a couple of weeks. Mainly using the one for cradle cap so he doesn't look like a lizzard

A ffew weeks old, with baby Shampoo. Since being about 18 months I have used the L'Oreal Kids shampoos on her.

After reading some of the posts on here by Mears (I think!) I didn't use shampoos etc on DD until she was about 10 mths old, and then only because she had a stubborn case of cradle cap. I'll continue using it with her as she has longish hair and a bad habit of rubbing her dinner in it!!

I've stopped using shampoo with DSs though as they have very short hair, and I find a good rub with a flannel gets it just as clean with less fuss - this is how I washed DDs hair as well.

never - ds, 18 mos, still has water although have used aqueous cream since he was about 4 mos old. Avoided bath products as dh has eczema which unfortunately it turned out ds inherited.

Still haven't used shampoo on 2 year old dd!! I have eczema, so have avoided bath products with her - just use aqueous cream. Also dd has hardly any hair, so really doesn't need more than water to wash it.

yes friends whose babes have eczema don't use anything.

Mine have rhino skin and react to nothing!

Since the first bath, so I suppose less than a week old.

But all three Ds's had horrid, matted, blood stained hair after delivery so I had little choice.

Still use the same stuff now and and the oldest is nearly 6 yrs old.

DD1 it was about 10 months I think (when the food became truly ground in during meals!), but we used bubble bath from fairly early on now and then. DD2 is 4 months and we haven't used anything other than water with her really. Bubble bath once or twice but that's been it (and now we know she has eczema it will be emmolient rather than soaps anyway).

Still no shampoo at nearly 2. Just runs it under the shower twice a day.

I started to use an SLS-free bodywash when DS was 8 weeks - until then water only.

Sodium Laureth Sulphate is a powerful detergent present in ALL shampoos, baby washes etc and is asociated with the increase in infant excema over the last 20-odd years.
