Yes! 1st baby.

12 noon: Went to hospital with contractions every 4 minutes. Waters had broken. Got told that waters hadn't broken and I just had thrush (and would my husband like to have a look - mmm nice!! - turns out that the white stuff was not thrush but was vernix where my waters had broken!!!!)

2pm: Would I like to go home (I was on my knees and holding onto a chair in pain). Got told I could not go on delivery suite as would definitely not be delivering that day but could go on maternity ward

7pm: One busy midwife in and out of private room on maternity ward. Said I was in early labour and only 2cm. I then thought I couldn't cope with this and accepted the pethidine she offered

8:10pm: Mum turns up from a 4 hour drive away and told to go home again because I wouldn't give birth til next day and visiting hours over. Luckily she insisted made her way to me.

8:15pm: I am in a mess and wanting to push. Get told off by midwife for messing up her bed. And got told to not make such a fuss - quote midwife "I have had 3 babies and my daughter has had 2 - what is all this fuss about". Mum cleans me up (gets told off for not wearing gloves to clean me up - to which she laughs) forces midwife to examine me. Baby crowning. Rushed off to delivery room.

9:07pm: Baby born.....

If I had known I was so close I would have not had the pethidine.

Horrendous care.....

Yes with DS1. Midwife just thought I was exaggerating the pain and he refused to check my cervix. He ran a bath and when I got in, you could see my stomach was pushing the baby out. Even then he refused to check me. My husband was begging him to examine me, as it was so obvious I was in labour even to him! I demanded to get out the bath and then he finally agreed to check me. Surprise, surprise I was 10 cms.

3kids, contact PALS at your hospital, they will advise how to get hold of your notes.

At 35 weeks I went into the day assessment unit in the morning, as I was unsure if waters had broken or if I'd peed myself and had back ache and abdominal pains. Had the morning being monitored, but they could find no signs of contractions. T 12 noon had an internal exam and told definitely not labour, but to go home, take some paracetamol and rest. I did this and after a couple of hours or so told DH I wanted to be checked again, so we through bags inthe car just in case and off we went. He dropped me at the entrance at 4.15 and went to park. I got untercepted by reception staff as I tried to waddle to the assessment unit, and told to go to the delivery suite instead. I was insisting it wasn't labour (despite the fact I'd been screaming every 5 minutes for some time now) and apologised to the MW for wasting her time, but then she examined me and I was 6 cm! 2 hours later DD was born

(threw bags in the car, not through bags. Sorry)
