Previous caesarean- can I have another one without fuss?

hi

I had an elective caesarean section due to some complex mental health issues I was experiencing. For more info- all involved professionals agreed that getting the baby out safely in a controlled setting was the best approach. Great experience and recovered physically and mentally well.

i may be having another baby (still early days, is only 8 weeks or so) and i just wanted to check what the procedure is when you have had a caesarean before. Will I just be able to ask for another on the grounds of having one 23 months before due to the risks of uterine rupture?

I really have no interest in VBAC and just want to be prepared if this is something that will be encouraged

thank you!

Yes it's fine. Consultant will have a chat, go through the risks etc but ultimately your decision.

Yes, I had no problems. Both elective sections.

I had a c section first time due to a similar issue
That signed me off for the 2nd one no problems
I knew the risks and don't want a third
Good luck xxx

They will need to check scar tissue usually an ultrasound. My BFF had 4 elective C Sections by the 4th the co sultwnt said no more as the scar tissue was unstable. At the same time as her last they tied her tubes.

Yeah, just tell them you’ve decided you’re going to have another one. Don’t get drawn into any discussions, be firm but polite and say you’ve already made up your mind.

Nah, they won't bother just for a second.
