Contractions - what’s normal?

I had what I think were contractions in the middle of the night last night.
They were roughly every 5 mins lasting a minute and then they stopped after 2 hours. Baby is moving fine this morning, I’ve not lost my plug and waters haven’t broken.
I’m 38 weeks, should I assume they’ll start again soon, or could I still be weeks off Labour?

Hi, sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions and not actual ones. If baby is moving well and plug is still intact I would say they were just practice contractions and all is well. Might be worth giving your midwife a call though. Good luck and congratulations

Ive had braxton hicks and until now they’ve not been painful.
These ones were quite painful, each one started with cramp that got worse until it reached a peak and then it started to ease off. Does that still sound like braxton hicks?
