Could this be labour?

Appreciate this is insane because it’s my 4th baby so surely I know by myself?

all 3 babies followed a pattern of 1 week late, waters only broke just before baby came out.

im 38+3, had bad braxton hicks on and off today and suddenly i was sitting and felt a “pop” and a little squirt of fluid. Have put a pad in as advised by the good old internet to monitor but then immediately was followed by upset stomach (which is also a bit of a sign).

could the pop have been wee? It just felt like more than that - liquid was really suddenly forced out.

freaking out a bit as was expecting a few more weeks in there and I hate the unexpected. Any advice or opinions?

If you felt a pop then I would ring the maternity triage and they will get you in for a swab to test for amniotic fluid. It is important to have it confirmed as infection can be a risk once the membranes have been ruptured for more than 24 hours so they'll want to keep an eye on things.
A lot of the time waters going isn't like in the films, it starts with a gush or trickle!

Went in to the unit and it wasn’t waters - they did the swab. However baby’s heart rate is averaging 116 when a few weeks ago it was 147 and now that’s a whole other concern that the midwife seemed to think was worth tracing then dismissed me so now I’m overly panicked

It's quite possible that the "pop" and sudden fluid release you felt could be your waters breaking, especially since you've experienced a similar pattern in previous pregnancies. The upset stomach can also be a sign that labor is approaching.
