Third degree tear help

I had a pretty traumatic birth almost 3 weeks ago, ended up with a forceps delivery, third degree tear and lost 2 litres of blood!

I can see a stitch that’s still not dissolved and it’s uncomfortable when I’m sitting and if I catch it at all it really hurts. Midwife told me when she discharged me this week, to try and pull it out myself. I’m not comfortable doing this so I went to see a nurse in the gp today.
She didn't want to remove it as it is big and extends into the vagina and had a big knot in it. She said as she's not a midwife she didn't want to take it out incase she unraveled anything and said it could be difficult. I phoned the ward and they told me to have a couple of baths and to go back to gp if not dissolved as it should have dissolved by now. Would a gp know whether it's okay to remove it and whether they can? I tried community midwife a few times but no answer so waiting for her to get back to me.
Probably my hormones but I got myself a bit upset today because I feel no one is helping me! 🙁

I'd go back to the maternity ward again, GPs won't see those stitches often so as they've said they won't know the impact of removing it, plus the ward have your notes too. Keep pushing them, they shouldn't be leaving you in pain like you are!

Did you get sorted?

You are still under the maternity ward for anything like this for weeks after birth so please ring if you haven't already.

Can't believe they told you to pull out yourself.
