Surgeon cut fibroid during c section, anyone else?

I’m postpartum mum of 8m old and have some questions around my birth. I know it’s after the fact but I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything similar as I haven’t come across anything when I’ve looked into it!

I had an emergency c section ( after many induction tactics). During my c section I realised things were taking longer than they should have, and after the surgeon told me they had cut through a fibroid and I had lost a fair amount of blood.

i didn’t know I had fibroid/s and it wasn’t picked up on any of my scans. I guess I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this at all or had any further insight?

Not to me personally but my friend had the same thing. Never picked up on scans etc but during section it was found and they removed it. She had found to very difficult to get pregnant, that was possibly why. On trying for her second baby she fell pregnant straight away!

Where did this happen?

After my first section the surgeon mentioned in passing I had a couple of fibroids. I did have a pph but if it was related they didn’t say. Altho tbh they told me fuck all about anything so.

Did they have to cut the fibroid to get the baby out?

I haven't had this happen but I do know I have at least one uterine fibroid and I will be having an ELCS.
I would imagine this is a common risk, especially in emergency c section when time is of the essence and the priority is getting your baby out safely and quickly.
