VBAC success stories?

Hi.
I had a semi Emergency C section for my first baby as she was 42+2, failed induction etc etc. Anyway not pregnant but wondering about having a 2nd. I'll either have an Elective C section or 'minimal intervention' VBAC. I don't want to be induced again, no drip, minimal monitoring, no epidural. I know in maternity care 'intervention leads to intervention' so i want to avoid that. But I know which VBACs they prefer you to be consultant led and are more strict with monitoring etc. I am 26, very fit and healthy, zero medical problems and uncomplicated last pregnancy other than I never went into labour!

I've not given birth yet but am 36 weeks with my 2nd and planning for a VBAC. I've seen a consultant at 20 weeks and will again at 38 and the rest of my appointments have been with the midwife.
They want me to have continual monitoring during labour but they have wireless monitors and are happy for me to go for a water birth with just gas and air. I've also briefly discussed not being induced if I go over and just having increased monitoring.
I hope this helps x

That's great. Do you mind me asking which trust/ health board you're with?
Thank you

I had a successful VBAC although it's some years ago now. My boys were born in 1999 and 2003.

First DD was 10 days late, failed induction, and worries over his heart rate. He was born by c section. He was 9lb 10oz so maybe a good job he was born the way he was.

Second DS was 2 days early. He took 9 hours to be born and I did have to have assistance with a ventouse. He was 8lb 7oz, so another big baby.

I'm so glad I had a VBAC, particularly having a toddler and needing to care for him.
