What's your second birth like?

My son was only a day late. Wondering if my daughter will be early, on time or late. I hope not late as the PGP is getting worse.

What's everyone's experiences :) and was the birth easier. I had forceps with my son as he was malpositon.

Quick and early. First was slow and late.
Pretty much sums up the DCs personalities now they're older too.

Both exactly the same. One week late, needed a sweep to start things off, six hour labour. First one had epidural, second just gas and air. A lot less tearing and bruising with DD2 even though she was bigger so quicker to recover from birth and less sore.

My first was 24 hours in labour, episiotomy and ventouse. Spontaneous labour. Born on her due date.
My second, I had a sweep and she arrived about 8 hours later in the pool just a second degree tear. Also born on her due date 😂
I really hope my third isn't late and comes fairly quickly
Good luck!

I had to have a episiotomy. Was awful for ages after. Its good they arrived on due date 😅 hopefully your third will be the same. Thank you. You too

Second was ten days early and a home birth. (First arrived on their due date.) He came out forehead presenting, the MWs had no idea. It was a loooooooong labour!

Least they weren't late! I would love a home birth. Bet it was relaxing

1st was 13 days early, birthing pool. Straight forward but 72 hours from start to finish (about 12 hours active labour)

2nd was 4 days early, home birth. 3 hours start to finish. 7 minutes active labour. Midwife nearly didn't make it!

How was it in the birthing pool? Definitely much quicker second time.

Thank you 😊

2 weeks late (same as my first).

Labour lightening quick, nothing like my first. Didn’t have time to go to hospital so no pain relief but still hurt a lot less than my first labour where I had gas and air and eventually an epidural. Had him in my arms almost before I realised how far through I was. So in my case, second one was far easier. Hope same for you but maybe with a bit more notice than I got!

Birth pool is amazing, would highly recommend. I hired one for my home birth second time round but baby came too quick so it didn't get used!

A walk in the park. Woke up at 5am and felt something but wasn't sure if it was labour or not. Got painful around 6am and started timing contractions. 6.30am contraction timer app flashed up to say time to go to hospital. I only went because I started having a bleed. Got to hospital at 7.30am, baby was born just over an hour later in the pool. No stitches required and was back home for 3pm when DD got home from school.
Whereas my DD labour I pushed for 4 hours alone, was a back to back labour and I would've chopped my head off if it meant it would be over - without sounding braggy I would jump at the chance to do my second labour all over again.

Your second labour sounded like a breeze. I hope mines nice and quick and need no stitches or anything

I'll definitely put it in my birth plan. I did with my first but never happened.

I found being in the water was very nice but it seemed to slow my labour down. I'm not sure I'd bother if I were to give birth again. I think I'd just keep walking around until the contractions got really painful and close together, then have another lightly dosed epidural just to take the edge off and try to stand up and circle my hips, or sit on a birthing ball.
