A friend of mine has just had about 2 tablespoons worth of water escaping. She is due tomorrow. She hasn't had any pains as such just general back ache. Has anyone experienced this before? Is her labour starting do you think?

couldn't really say - sounds a little bit on the small side for waters to have broken rather than to be discharge/urine - but best if she calls hospital midwives on labour ward to see what they recommend - whether they would want to check her or not.

My waters broke like this with ds2. just a small amount evry so oftern over a three or four hours. If baby's head is well down it doesn't always come out in a gush. Wish her good luck!!

She should put on a sanitary towel and keep an eye open to see if any more fluid pasees. Doesn't sound as though waters have broken TBH but sometimes it starts as an insidious leak. Very very common to feel fluid draining due to the increase in vaginal secretions of pregnancy. If there is any more she should phone the hospital for advice.

Thanks for your responses, she has spoken to hospital and been told to keep her eye on things. So i suppose it's just a waiting game!
