Hello 👋 looking for some reassurance and possibly advice?

I gave birth 11 weeks ago. My first baby and pretty traumatic. Baby was overdue and stuck side on. Labour was nearly 40hrs and ended up with episiotomy and foreceps 🥴 plus a small 2nd degree tear to labia.

11 weeks on and everything seems ok. One of my labia looks smaller than before and looks like it's missing a bit. The episiotomy scar which goes off to the side rather than down, I think is ok. Bit raised around the entrance. Continues to ache inside from Time to time.

My real question is will the hole (excuse the TMI) ever look closed? It still looks quite open. I had sex at 7 weeks and although it wasn't painful, and DH said he couldn't notice a difference, I did. It definitely felt looser.

Is it a question of time or is this it now?

I was never the same again.

Ermmm it definitely continues to stay looking more 'open' in my experience. But you can regain some of the tightness as that's mostly muscle - see a women's physio, they're brilliant!

Thanks I'll look into it. I guess I wasn't sure if it was still healing or if It may look different in a year's time or something. Sometimes it looks better than others lol just wondering what other people experience

My eldest daughter is 7 now, I had a pretty straightforward birth apart from the fact she was a whopper at 9lb 2. She got slightly stuck coming out but I managed to still push her out. I had pain on that side and did notice after you could see where she had been stuck. I think it looked a bit lopsided for a small while. It's still quite early since you delivered give it time. I think my left labia still looks a bit lopsided but it's not that noticeable, I did have pain during sex as well on that side for a little while after but I notice nothing now. Congratulations as well on your little one. Give yourself time to heal

It is inevitable that things will change .... that is OK ... that is life. Think what it went through .... or what went through it!
