Recent maternity or birth experience St Thomas’s / Tommy’s

Hello!
I self-referred to St Thomas’s maternity 3 weeks ago and called today to find out when my appointments might be as I’m going to be on holiday for 10 days from 10-12 weeks.
After waiting on hold for 3 hours (!) they said they had a big back log so to wait 4 weeks and call back if I’ve not heard anything. I’ll be 9 weeks by then.
It’s not filled me with confidence for the rest of my maternity journey. Has anyone had recent experiences and does it seem overly busy overall, and is it always tricky to get hold of them?

Separately I’m leaning towards a maternal request elective c section (because I’m tiny and don’t see how a baby is going to fit in me let alone get out!). Does St Thomas’s give a lot of push back for this?

I am based a lot closer to St George’s but was put off by the inadequate CQC report. I have had good experiences in the EPU there after previous miscarriage though, so wonder if I’d be better of there after all. (Especially if not having planned c section as st Thomas’s is about 45 mins away).
I think I’m now too late to have my booking appointment/first scan there but is it relatively easy to swap hospitals after the first scan if I change my mind?
Help!

Not had experience of this Hospital sorry OP but I would say being tiny should be an issue. I'm tiny too. 5 foot and size 4 when I got PG and have had 2 natural, fairly straightforward births.

My BF though who is 5"11" and has wide hips ended up with two emergency CSections.

My other friend who is slightly taller than me and just as thin birthed a 9lb9oz baby with just the birth pool.

Don't stress too much, it's likely that everything will be fine Flowers

@Potato1 did you ever hear back from St Thomas?

Whereabouts do you live? St Mary's and Queen Charlotte's both got outstanding CQC reports.
