Induction Looming

Hi all,

third baby, first two were spontaneous labours after sweeps and pretty easy going (sorry of this offends anyone! Haha)

third baby and I’m 38 + 2 and he has stop growing, had a sweep yesterday but she barely attempted it because I’m already 100% effaced, soft and stretchy cervix and 4cm dilated and pretty sure the little she did would set me off but nothing :(

I am booked for induction today but it’s a waiting game for a call for a bed, They did say they should be able to just go straight ahead and break my waters so I’ll skip the beginning part. Anyone got any induction story’s when already quite far along in the early labour phase? I’m praying things will be quick! Any positive stories?

With my daughter they were able to break my waters straight away (think i was about 2cm), started the drip right after and she was born 7 hours later. Super simple, no issues, minimal pain relief. Good luck!

My induction too two days BUT as soon as I was 2-3 cm they broke my waters and baby was born about 6 hours later, if that!

Good luck 💗

Thanks ladies! I’m hoping because I’m straight at the water breaking stage it will be as nice to me 😂 although my waters have never gone until pushing with my other two so who knows if it will even work xx

I had a couple of pessarys first but after waters breaking baby was here in 7/8 hours. Was a very fast, very painful induction but I can’t cope with gas and air or pain relief and it was way less intense than my first labour (3 days of slow labour followed by a drip to get me along!) It was nice to feel in control though. The worst bit was having to stay in longer than normal due to some sickness meds which meant baby needed monitoring for 36 hours!

Thank you all, I’m starting to get some pains in the last hour so here’s hoping I’m on my way already 🤞

Have things progressed @Amyyleanne46?

Amyyleanne46 · 06/10/2023 15:51

@mumtotwox unfortunately not everything stopped at 10pm pst night! so sat on the induction ward awaiting for a bed on the labour ward to have my waters broken, 4-5cm dilated, waters are bulging and they can touch the baby’s head so I’m praying it will be quick once they get me going. Trying everything to get it going again 🤞🤞 xx

Good luck OP!

With my baby I went straight to waters breaking and baby was born no issues 8 hours later. I was only 1.5cm dilated from sweeps and it was first baby, so hopefully yours is nice and quick!

Incase anyone was wondering, waters broke 10:15am baby born 11:01am! 45 minute labour, two pushes! I’m still in shock it was over that quickly 🥰 xx
