10 weeks postpartum - period?

Hi all, I’m quite confused. It’s been almost 10 weeks since I gave birth. I had post-natal bleeding that was over within the first 6 weeks. And as of yesterday, I seem to be flowing fresh blood. I didn’t expect my period to come back this quickly, as I am breastfeeding, but I also combination feed. In the first 6 weeks, I was poorly and breastfed around 50% of the time. But post 6 weeks, currently, I breastfeed 75-80% of the time, if not more.

Is this a period or anything else I should be concerned about? And will it affect my milk supply?

For background: I had a vaginal birth with a ventouse, episiotomy, and a third (3a) degree tear. Post 6 weeks, the pain had reduced but I’m not 100% recovered yet, as it still feel a bit sore when I squeeze, but does feel a lot better than it did at first.

Thank you

It sounds like your period yes. You can still have one that early on even if ebf. I believe your supply can dip briefly due to hormonal changes and then regulate again.

Ah yes, thank you! You are right, it did turn out to be a period.
