Please help. Is this thrush?

Hello, I have terrible pain in both nipples. Doctors are not being helpful I think it could be thrush? I’m not breastfeeding but it looks similar and hurts! Any help would appreciated.

Looks sore! What did the doctors say? I think thrush is more of a rash? But I could be wrong!

Does it feel worse at night?
It shouldn't itch, just ache. I never had an external rash as it's inside your milk ducts. The bonus is that if you aren't breastfeeding you don't have to faff with gentle meds. You can try some clotrimazole cream on your nipples whilst you wait for doctors or midwives assessment.

No it doesn’t itch. It’s just very hot and very sore. I have some thrush cream but don’t want to make it worse.

You won't make it worse with anti fungal cream. Give it a go lovely. (I think actually daktarin is better than clotrimazole, but depends what you have to hand)

The other thing might be mastitis, but if you're generally well (other than having just had a baby) is it likely to be that?
