Help wanted for frightened friend

I have a friend who is due to give birth very soon, her previous child was born under very traumatic circumstances and ended up in SCBU. Not surprisingly said friend is scared the same thing will happen again.

I'd like to send her a card along the lines of 'try not to be frightened... everything'll be fine etc, etc but don't really have the right words.

Can anyone suggest anything?

yes, to debrief with the birth trauma association before she steps foot in the labour room again

inspiring reading such as ina may gaskin, sheila kitzinger, janet balaskas, penny simkin

and if possible to speak to a midwive about waht happened last time and why!

sending a card with positive and caring words in is a lovely idea

How about something along the lines of "I'm thinking of you, wishing you all the very best and very excited about meeting LO"

I'm trying to think of a way to put across your positive sentiment without actually saying "everything will be fine" because when people say that to me I think, how do you know? You don't. Maybe it's just me.

What a lovely thing to want to do. I'd write:

'You will get through this and I will be there with chocolate in my hand for you whenever you need me.'

Hi Lulumama, I've offered my copies of all the books you've suggested, I think it's a case of bury head in the sand and let the midwives direct the birth.

B.S. Know what you mean about the wording, that's the problem I wanted to say something personal not just good luck. God it's diffeicult to get the right words sometimes isn't it!

Will get a lovely card for her tomorrow and see whether imspiration hits me!

Like the chocolate one! Very light hearted. Might pinch that too.
