Are you less likely to go into labour if you're feeling unwell?

I'm now officially overdue (ok Ok only a day but I was really hoping I wouldn't go overdue this time)

Anyway am hoping midwife will do a sweep tomorrow but I've woken up this morning with a raging cold and feel shite. Do you think your body waits until your in better condition to go into labour?

I'm torn between feeling too ill to give birth and just wanting this baby to come. Feeling very emotional and panicky about it all now.

Lots of people do go into labour feeling like crap - late pregnancy will do that to you anyway. But if it's not time, even if you do have a sweep it won't do anything sorry

Feeling shite though was the first part of labour for me and I had sniffles all the way through the third trimester so could it be something other than a cold?

BTW don't panic, the baby will come very soon. I know it's disappointing to go to bed, your due date come and gone but only 1 in 20 women deliver on their due date so you'd be an oddity if you had done so
