...do the minutes really turn into hours?

Sympathy and labour-starting wishes to you. I remember my utter bemusement once my due date passed, and thinking quite seriously - 'this is a joke and I am going to be PG FOREVER!'

i was told that women are pregnant for eight months and a year and i think it is a very good analogy

i have even started doing housework. i think my DH is going to leave me. scrap that, i mean i think he should leave me. based on my behaviour tonight. is seems so unfair to be this immobile and have this much free time, to be this exhausted and yet find it so dif to get into a position comfortable enough to sleep in

Yep, I can sympathise. I was due on Monday 25th and apart from the piles, thrush and heartburn it feels like I have swallowed a bag of snakes, the baby is squirming so much!!

And then there's the "anything happening yet?" texts and phone calls to field...

hi oldie, i was due on 24th -- so am not even that overdue ... god help all those who have to come into contact with me next week if i still havent popped. what annoys me most is that i havent even felt the slightest tweak or twinge. DH mentioned tonight that we could end up with a 29th feb birthday and i promptly started bawling and telling him that's out the question, 'cause my cervix still has to open.... [double blush]

I'm not sure tweaks and twinges count for much...I've had loads but still no real action. Lots of people go into labour without any of those. My friend had none at all, then suddenly her waters broke and her son was born 6 hours later, first baby, no pain relief, no stitches, all done in time for lunch. So you never know!!
