When to swap formula stages?

Hi all
my 6month is on aptamil 1 I was wondering when he needs to move up? My HV said he can stay on 1 until 12 months but I was reading on the aptamil site and it suggests 2 as well as weaning.

he’s weaning now but not fully, will he still be having his milk as normal with the 2 stage?

1 is fine untill they are 1. The only difference in 2 is legally aptamil are allowed to advertise it.

Also they dont need follow on milk once they are 1 they just have regular milk.

It's a marketing ploy because they are not allowed to advertise first stage formula. So get round that by inventing a six months plus formula. It's fine to use first stage until you wean onto cows milk at 12 months. No need to ever by stage two.

Stayed on 1 until 12 months then moved to cows milk.

You can often get better deals on the stage 2 deals, they aren't allowed to do this on stage 1.

This. You can save a few bob. They are not allowed to do any special offers on first infant milk, as us silly wimmin might decide to pack in breastfeeding if we see a special offer on formula.
