COVID at 40w pregnant

Tomorrow is my due date & I have just tested positive for covid. I’ve been full of cold on & off for 2 weeks now. I hadnt thought much of it & wouldn’t ordinarily have tested, but these last couple of days I noticed I literally can’t taste or smell anything. I’ve informed my midwife & tomorrow will receive a “covid pack” including blood thinning injections & (I think she said) BP monitor etc.

Has anyone given birth recently whilst testing positive for covid? I’m petrified my husband tests positive & can’t be with me (he’s not showing any symptoms yet) for the birth. I should have asked the midwife I spoke to earlier but I was too upset. Not had the easiest pregnancy so this just feels like the cherry on top.

Not when I gave birth but I had twice during pregnancy. First time just after I found out I was pregnant and second time at 8 months. You've done the right thing by telling your midwife. I also did the blood thinning injections (when i was 8 months), had to do them for 10 days. Good luck x

@Tired6789 thank you. The injections I’m ok with. I’m struggling to comprehend giving birth without my husband there with me though 💔 x

Fingers crossed he doesn't catch! He might have had it already without symptoms...
