C Section Essentials

Hi wise mumsnetters!

I'm booked in for a c section for medical reasons and was wondering what everyones essentials for recovery are? I am VERY lucky in that I have my parents moving in for the first 6 weeks to help out with toddler, I plan on bf again so don't want to consider formula or bottles.
In terms of more practical things, what do people suggest? I've heard silicone scar patches and compression wear are good, does anyone have any insight?

I had an elective c section and honestly the only thing I'd say was essential was plenty of high waisted knickers and high waisted leggings! Yes stay on top of pain relief too (I got sent home with 10 days supply of diclofenac which worked brilliantly. Although even when it was finished I didn't feel I was in much pain at all, I was surprised!

I had no issue with bowel movements at all and things continued on as normal in that department!

Try to stay active, I found pottering round the house really helped my recovery. The first week was the worst but after that it rapidly improved. I didn't find breastfeeding uncomfortable against the incision but if you do a breastfeeding cushion might help.
