Elective C section at Chelsea West Hodpital

Hi all 🙋🏻‍♀️

Earlier during my pregnancy I inquired with the midwife at Chelsea West Hospital about the possibility of having an exercise C-section. She referred me to the birth choices unit for a consult but said the elective c-sections are done at West Mid hospital. After the consultation I decided to go with the natural birth with epi as my birth pl

Moving forward to the present day, they now think my baby is breached ( going for a scan tomorrow) and could possibly be looking at a C-section regardless.

My question is, whether it is true that Chelsea west doesnt do any elective c-section at their own hospital and transfer them to west mid ? Or I perhaps misunderstood the midwife. I know they are under the same trust but I haven't had good experience with them in the past and would rather stay at Chelsea West.

I would appreciate you sharing your recent experiences

I'm shortly due an elective C at Chelsea & Westminster, no mention of having to go to West Mid.

I was registered with Chelsea & Westminster but due to having an elective they said I could only have it at West Mid, so I ended up having it there. Due a second baby in a few months and have registered there this time. Overall, the c-section was a really good experience, post-natal was a bit patchy but I think that's the same everywhere.

Thankfully our boy decided to turn the right way and so we can avoid the elective C for now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wishing you all the best with the birth @shayas ... my elective got brought forward as a semi-emergency c-section. DD was born at C&W last week. I am happy with the care we both received.
