For the past couple of weeks I’ve felt as if anything could happen any day with Braxton hicks and cramping, loose stools and lots of pressure around my pelvic area.

I am 39 + 4 and it has all stopped. In a sense it does not matter as booked for an elcs on Tuesday, but I did want to go into labour naturally!

You’re best not to go into labour if you’re having an elective section. Elective is better than emergency, if you have the choice.

I know but I’d also like the baby to come when he or she is ready and they now seem to be nowhere near ready, so feeling guilty about that!

They can ramp back up again.
I had my first at 38+3 and my twins at 36w exactly.

For weeks with the twins I felt like I was going into early labour.
Stopped for a couple of days and felt more like myself then at 35+5 it started to ramp up again and at 35+6 when they checked I was 3cm dilated.

I’m in the same boat, I had a sweep on Friday, was certain she was going to be here Saturday, still pains are coming and then disappearing, they’re just not regulating!!!

Had loose stools this morning and having so much bloody show and mucus come out I didn’t know there was that much! 😂 but still baby remains inside.

Oh, you’re further along than me if you’ve had a bloody show! Logically mine will be our by Tuesday so I’m being daft … but it does feel almost as if your body is ‘failing.’

@Summermeadowflowers yes feels as if it should be doing something but isn’t quite doing it right, I know my body and I know it’s ready so totally confused as to why I’ve not started off

Why have you already booked an elcs if you want to go into labour naturally? Are you high risk?

I was wondering that!

Yes - my due date is Wednesday and it is strongly advised I don’t go over it because of my age. I really don’t want another induction though.
