Post partum bleeding

I had a c-section 8 weeks ago and bled every day for the first 5-6 weeks or so. I read 4-6 weeks to bleed was normal and as it was getting lighter and lighter and turned brown I wasn’t too worried.

For the past two weeks I’ve still been getting light spotting every few days that is only present when I wipe. Since yesterday it has changed to a pinky red colour which has worried me a bit. Is this normal? It could be the start of my period (though I’m breastfeeding combined with formula) but could it also be signs of retained placenta or infection? As I had a c-section I understand this is unlikely but not impossible.

I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow but I wonder if I should get it checked sooner.
