Anyone had the Balloon induction method

I’m due in for induction on Wednesday for the foley balloon catheter they’ll give me 24 hours to dilate and then break my waters on Thursday.

im just interested to hear peoples experiences from this method of induction. I was induced via pessary the first time but it was a long process took a long time and doctor said this would be quicker I was examined and he said I favourable as cervix is open so they’ll be able to get it in etc.

just looking to find out what anyone thought of it!

It got labour started for me so did work for that. Though I’d been in hospital for days before it would work but it sounds like you’re in better starting position than I was. I did find it uncomfortable but then so are most things that come under induction. Best of luck.

Yes awful and didn’t work. Never again

I did. It was inserted, inflated and I was able to go home. Back in about 6 hours later when it 'fell out' as it had done its job. Water were broken and labour started.
It was no worse than the pessary and I was happy to be sent home. TBH I found sweeps more uncomfortable.

I'm due to have one on Tuesday if my sweep on Monday doesn't get things going, would love to hear more stories and how OP got on?

I had the pessary with my first birth. It took 4 days.

Had the balloon with my second (three years later) and it worked really quickly - within 12 hours definitely.
