I'm due in a few days and been having contarctions since 7pm, now every 6 mins or so but reluctant to phone hospital/get dd picked up as this happened on tues but then stopped (found I had uti). they're pretty sore but mw said bh's can also hurt so I@m not sure!
I have to admit this isn't my first but waters broke 1st time so obvious I was in labour!
Excuse typos

i would hazard a guess that you are in labour or in the latent phase, if they are regualr and painful....if the pains do not die off when you move around and have a rhythm and a pattern..then it is probabaly it

Thanks, have been sitting on sofa since it started as am really uncomfortable when I move around (not just tonight, generally!). Have sent my friend a warning text... I just can't convinve myself it could be happening and don't want to get all excited!

I did this for days before having both of them - I guess it's the latent phase thingy. I guess that you will ultimately 'know' because of pain, intensity or frequency change. Mind you, I was contracting every 3 mins for hours and they even tailed off when I was fully dilated. If you're worried, get checked out.

Everything slowed down after my last post so I decided to go to bed. Had quite a few 'wake me up' contractions during the night and have had some this morning (only been up for 30 mins though ). I'm still not sure what's going on! Dh is going to take dd out for a bit so I can try to get some more sleep and if it continues after lunch I will probably phone the hospital for advice.
Send me some labour vibes please!

Sending labour vibes too. As I said, I did this for a long while before both of mine. It's hard to know whether to stay active and encourage it, or rest while you have a chance! With DS I stayed fairly active and was up for nearly 3 days by the time I had him and was exhausted. With DD I rested as much as possible, even napping for a few mins between contractions and that was much better. Things were slow anyway. When I knew I was in active labour (was 7cm and 8cm before I even got checked with both as it was hard to know!) then I worked at staying active.
