Induction at 38 weeks - stories please?

Can I please have some stories for inductions at 38 weeks? (Hopefully positive) It’s recommended I have it for RFG & RFM so I’m taking it given risk to baby.

I’ve been induced before at 39 weeks and that was super quick, 6/7 hours from pessary to birth. Not expecting that this time given a week earlier but would be great to hear other stories!

Anyone got any positivity to send my way?

Pessary has been inserted for several hours and no pain yet. My cervix was closed and back so I’m expecting a long drawn out induction. Any tips on what I can do to get it moving?

Hi! I was induced at 38 weeks and things moved quite quickly for me. Please don't worry though as I did find induction fine! I had been harvesting colostrum before hand so I don't know if that's what helped things? I had my pessary inserted at 10pm and everything kicked off around 10am the next morning. Baby wad born 3.30am the following day. That was my first baby :) Wishing you luck and it won't be long before that baby is in your arms!! It will all defo be worth it!

I was induced at 36 weeks and was 8 hours from pessary to birth and had a nap at the start of those 8 hours. Waters broke 3 hours before birth then super fast intense contractions and only gas and air! But a positive experience I'd say and I had had no signs of body being/getting ready, no Braxton Hicks etc.

I was induced with both my babies at 38+0. First for IUGR and pre eclampsia. From pessary to giving birth was around 7hours. 2nd baby also IUGR it was 14 hours but a much more relaxed birth and felt more in control of what was going on.
Good luck OP. You got this. 🫂

Hello my waters started to trickle at 36+2 which lead to a stay in hospital and induction at 37+1.

i was taken down to labour ward at 2:45-3pm they monitored me and then my baby decided to play up with her heart rate so that was it bell pulled drs rushed in. Dr examined me before she did that I asked for gas and air as I felt sore. It was the best decision I’d made. She then took it upon herself to break/pop my waters. Not so long after that they put the hormone drip up which brought my contractions on. I stayed on just gas and air all the way up to 8pm had pethadine at 8 gave birth at 21:46pm. I can’t remember a lot about it in the middle but I know I was good her dad said so.

you do forget about the pain as I can’t recall it although I remember hating going toilet after it. Also pack an extra long charger lead.

I’m a worrier. I’m anxious and scared of pain cause even my cycles used to make me bad but I just kept it calm all week and reminded myself she was coming either way and there’s nothing I can do to change how it goes. It does help if you get on with your midwife I didn’t like mine until it swapped at 8pm but I just kept telling my partner and me 8 is all I’ve got to get to. I then had the best two midwifes ever.

i stayed calm and I think if I knew my next labour would be like that even with the induction id be pregnant already.

you just have to work with the mindset the positive calm mindset
