Illness or upcoming labor?

I'm 38 plus 4 today. Yesterday and today I have felt absolutely drained, mentally and physically. Moving is an effort. I'm currently sat on the sofa having a massive hot flash, and being so uncomfortable I don't know what to do with myself. I've heard about a lot of people having a sudden burst of energy prior to labor, does this sound more like an illness?

I'd say it sounds more like just normal late pregnancy in the summer tbh! I was heavily pregnant last summer and remember feeling tired/drained/extremely warm for the vast majority of the time

@TheSnailAndTheWaaaail it's awful isn't it! My first DC was an October baby so thankfully I was smaller in the summer months. I am struggling so much, the thought of being pregnant for another day makes me want to cry, the idea of potentially being pregnant for another 3-4 weeks is agonising! I feel so sorry for those due in July/August! Xxx

DC2 was born at the very end of August, I hated last summer! I basically sat inside next to a fan with my feet in a bucket of cold water 😂

Ah if you're over 38 weeks now then let's just hope baby makes and appearance next week and puts you out of your misery 😊 all the best for the birth!

It just sounds like you need a rest and body is telling you to slow down.
