3rd baby very low at 36 weeks

Hey, I had midwife today and my babies head is very very low which I can feel when I walk, so much pressure. This is my 3rd baby and she said she thinks he'll come early and to keep an eye out. Just wondering if anyone else had a 3rd baby go super low and labour happened soon after or of it was still weeks until labour? Thanks

I could feel it like that at 36 weeks with my first (and only). I was at work, on my feet, and could feel his head against my cervix when I walked. He came on his due date.

Yeah…my 3rd (and funnily enough my biggest at 7lb 13oz) felt like her head was practically between my knees for the last few weeks. Had episodes of regular contractions - every 6ish mins for about 4 hours that tapered off into nothing - most evenings for 2 weeks before my due date. Ended up giving birth in under and hour, on my due date 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

@Okunevo did you get it with any of your other pregnancies or just your 3rd? I've heard from people it happens with first babies but not 2nd 3rd etc until labour. It didn't happen with my 1st as I had polyhydramnious and it didn't happen with my second either but this time round it's very obvious.

@Ringmaster27 yess this is how I'm feeling!! I hope he isn't the biggest lol. My first was 7lb 11 and second 8lb 1. I've been having mild contractions for a few days now and I'm so nervous about not making it to the hospital lol. Did you make it with your 1 hour labour?

@Jvmumma I’d planned a home birth anyway so didn’t really matter. I was a bit crampy that morning, took DC1 to school, got home and my body decided it was party time 🤷🏻‍♀️😂😂 Midwife only just made it as baby’s head was coming 😂

DC 2 was very low at this stage but stayed out due the full 40 weeks, it was very uncomfortable.

Are you hoping for a coronation baby? Wink

@Ringmaster27 wow that sounds intense lol but also pretty lovely. I can't do a home birth as I've had a PPH with my last baby so need to get to the hospital pretty sharpish.

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto I have a feeling this one is going to be the same haha, I'm convinced I'll go overdue still 🙈
Haha nooo I need him to stay in there until at least 10th

Not sure if it's related but I got told that about baby being really low, then had reduced movements and baby's heart rate kept dropping (which they think is because his head was so low) and had to deliver by c section at 36 weeks.

They told me that even if they hadn't delivered at that time I still would have gone early!

How's it going @Jvmumma? Does it look like you'll make it until the 10th?

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto I did make it 😊 which is great and I'm hoping for a few weeks longer now too as I'm sure baby has now flipped into breech position and I'm super poorly with a cold. Have a scan today to confirm position 🙈 wish me luck x

Good luck!

If it's any consolation my MW was convinced the sane baby was breech. She wasn't, just had a hugely crap MW!

3 born at home all came around due date even tho it felt like there gona pop out weeks before lol and similar to another poster they all came without much notice 🤣 which made it easy for me lol

Jvmumma · 11/05/2023 22:31

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto baby was not breech 😊 he is incredibly low down in my pelvis. The umbilical Artery PI was really high though so need a repeat scan next week to see if I need to be induced. Hoping he comes on his own. X

@LadyJ2023 wow all born at home how amazing is that! I'm not allowed a home birth because of a previous PPH so I need to make it to the hospital lol in time 🤦🏽‍♀️ x

My 3rd felt low with weeks to go, I had start stop labour for weeks, really thinking it was it as the contractions were regular and going on for a few hours but it'd stop. He arrived on his due date. My other 2 were both born at 39 weeks so I was raging when I was 39 +1, I was overdue in my head. Hopefully you can make it to 38 weeks to be safe but don't go over.

I wonder if it's the same MW!

Even if you do end up being booked in for an induction LO might arrive before then anyway? My DF was booked in, turned up at 7am on the ward to be told she was already 5cm and things were progressing nicely.

Keep drinking the RLT Wink

I've had this also, I'm currently 38 weeks, I'm shocked the baby hasn't arrived already for the past month I had twinges baby super low, things have calmed down since I stopped work and took a breath but still surprised baby is still in there!

This is also my Third and my main concern is getting to the hospital in time! I'm so swollen with this one as well more than my last two, we have a week and a half to go until due date.

Op any news? Baby here yet or you still cooking?
