Hi, if you have a private birth is the follow up care for baby provided by the NHS still (ie health visitors etc)? I know you see the private consultant for yourself still but not sure about the baby.

yes. you will be referred back to your local council who will arrange the health visitors etc following your discharge.

Yes, I was private all the way through pregnancy and birth and was shocked upon returning home to be woken up by a health visitor knocking on the door. I had no idea the NHS would have known about the birth and when I was discharged.
