Did you have any signs that you were approaching going into labour

I mean in the few days before you actually went into labour did you have any signs or symptoms?

I never went into labour or even got close with my first and had to be induced but had various things happen this week (37+2) which have made me wonder if this baby is coming imminently!

The last few days I've had mild period like cramps (very mild and not in a pattern), nausea, bowels either blocked or loose, lots of movement from the baby, strange stretching feeling down below. All sorts of stuff that I'm probably over analysing!!

Honestly....no. I mean I had some of the things you mention for several weeks before, but I think they were just late pregnancy discomfort. Fingers crossed baby comes soon if that's what you are hoping for!

First born no nothing my waters broke an he was born 3 hours later, 2nd I had bloody shows the day before woke early hours waters broke and she was born 1 hour later.

Thanks @Keha and @Hoppingmad231 I think I am just over thinking. I'm on blood thinners and booked for a section. If I go into labour early and haven't had time to stop taking them they will have to give me a general anaesthetic which I am desperate to avoid. So I keep trying to work out whether to stop taking it or not!

No. In the night I had period type pains. I perhaps rather stupidly didn't realise that was the start. I went about my day as normal, going out for breakfast. At about 11am my waters broke in public (it was a dramatic, big gush!). Baby was out just 4 hours later. I had no idea the day before that my baby would be here!

Mild cramp in the soles of my feet. Didn't know what that meant the first time but I knew that was the beginning of Labour the next two times.

Both mine were a couple of days late.
With my first I had no signs apart from my water breaking the day before labour.
With my second I started to get contractions the day before - just for a couple of minutes here and there.

Rocknrollstar · 24/07/2023 13:32

I had a tremendous burst of energy a few days before.

HalloumiLuvver · 24/07/2023 13:39

Diarrhoea the day before - I've never waddled so fast while so big! and then absolutely no appetite. The smell of food made me feel sick. Which I regretted as then had a long labour and was sodding starving by the time he appeared.

I had mild period cramps for seconds to minutes at a time, about half an hour apart that then fizzled away for hours. A day later I was in hospital in labour.

blackrabbitwhiterabbit · 24/07/2023 18:46

Very bad low back pain.

AnnaNims · 24/07/2023 18:49

Both times, the day before labour I had tremendous bursts of energy and cleaned the house from top to bottom. I’m not exactly domesticated so this was a definite sign.

I saw the consultant at the hospital at 5pm, I was 37 + 2 she said this baby won't be here for ages that night at 9pm I was back in the hospital same consultant wafting around, I had quite a strop with her as it was too late for an epidural by the time I saw her!

Mad cleaning a few days before

RGxo13 · 27/07/2023 08:17

Been reading in the hope someone would say lightning crotch! No matter which way I lied in bed last night, I was getting shooting pains down there for a few hours. Really thought that might have been the start but no further pains.

SushiSuave · 27/07/2023 08:59

I had no signs at all. Went for a 3 mile walk when I was 2 days over due and had some sharp pains on the walk. Then about 6 hours later my waters broke.

Prettypaisleyslippers · 27/07/2023 09:01

I had discharge, needed a pad and couldn’t keep still. Couldn’t sit. Danced about, next day cleaned the house from top to bottom then waters went, baby 5 hours later.
