Induction to labour

Hi everyone! Ive just been induced with my second baby at 37+6 weeks, was induced with my first on the exact same day in my last pregnancy. Last time I had the 24hr tampon thing then 2 pessaries then got told nothing was happening, so would wait 24 hours, so I went for a nap and my waters broke and I gave birth 4 hours later, was very intense.

This time I've just had a gel about half an hour ago to start the induction and I'm sore already and having contractions and I have no one with me until the afternoon! What was everyone's second induction like? Was it much faster? And did the pain happen straight away? The machine is showing me having contraction after contraction and all are sore, but not sure whether it's too soon to ask for pain relief.

Just really nervous it's all going to start before anyone is here with me!

See you posted this a while ago now. When it's the second time it can all happen a lot quicker- if you feel you need pain relief then by all means ask. The midwives may want to examine you to see how things are going- up to you how you feel about vaginal examinations. Once they think you are in active labour then they should move you to delivery suite where you should be able to have your birth partner there any time of day.

Anyway I'm hoping you're having/had a baby by now. All the best x

Bet you've had the baby by now but my second induction was quicker, a 1 hour active labour on the drip.
