I’ve been in latent labour for 42 hours now. Been to the hospital twice in that time and have stayed at 2cm dilated, however last night I was told my cervix had softened quite a bit and had shrunk from 2cm in length to 1cm. My contractions really ramped up when we got home, absolutely excruciating. Doubled over in pain, crying, making all the noises under the sun to try and get through them. They have been exactly the same today up until about 10:30am where they began to die down a bit to the point now where they have stopped completely. I don’t plan on going back to the hospital until the pains get to that point again.
Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome? I’m a massive over-thinker and I’m worried I’m going to be stuck at 2cm for days, not making any progress and end up needing some sort of intervention to get her out.
